Most social platforms make money by selling data about you. We chose not to do that. So we had to find another way to keep the lights on. The answer we landed on was simple: freefrog takes a small cut when real transactions happen, and shares the rest back with the people who made those transactions possible. That's it. No surveillance, no shadow profiles, no auction of your browsing habits to the highest bidder.
We're also going to be honest with you: we're early. Not everything below is paying out yet. None of it does until there are enough users to make it worth something. But the infrastructure is built, the percentages are locked in, and when the time comes, you won't have to do anything differently. It'll just start working.
Here's every way freefrog puts money back in your pocket.
Every other social platform sells ad space on your page and keeps all of it. You built the audience. They cash the check. That's the arrangement you've been silently agreeing to for fifteen years.
On freefrog, ads on your page are opt-in. If you choose to allow them, you get a cut of what they generate. If you'd rather not see ads on your page, you won't. Your page, your call.
This one needs scale to function properly. We're building toward it. The infrastructure is ready when the audience is.
Know your way around HTML, CSS, or JavaScript? Build widgets and themes and sell them in the freefrog store. The Widget Studio is live today.
You set the price. When someone buys your widget, you currently keep 90%. Freefrog takes 10% to keep the lights on. We'll be upfront if that ever needs to change, and we won't do it quietly.
Themes work the same way. Build a look, publish it, earn every time someone installs it.
Bring people to freefrog and earn a lifetime dividend equal to 10% of our profit on their purchases. Store purchases, subscriptions, whatever. Not a one-time signup bonus. Every time they spend, for as long as they're here.
Your referral link lives under Settings and is active the moment you sign up. No application, no follower threshold, no approval process.
If you create content people want to pay for, you should be able to charge for it. Articles, podcasts, music, whatever. Subscribers pay you through freefrog, and you keep the majority. Since we're handling the payment infrastructure, freefrog takes a small processing cut. The exact split will be published before this feature launches.
Paywalled posts and subscriber-only feeds are actively being built. The data model is already in place.
Freelancers, consultants, coaches, musicians taking gigs: sell your time and skills directly from your freefrog page, without shipping people off to a third-party booking tool. Transactions go through freefrog's payment system, and like everything else here, you keep the majority of what you earn.
Native booking and paid services are on the roadmap.
Nothing on this page constitutes a guarantee of earnings, a contract, or a financial commitment of any kind. Freefrog is an independent, early-stage platform. Revenue-sharing features are contingent on the platform reaching sufficient scale and becoming profitable.
Ad revenue share, subscription payouts, and service transaction features are planned but not yet fully operational. Store revenue (widgets and themes) is live and functional, but payouts depend on Stripe Connect integration, which is under active development.
Revenue percentages and payout structures are subject to change. The current 90/10 split on store items reflects our commitment at launch. If circumstances require adjustments in the future, we'll communicate them directly and in advance. We won't bury changes in a terms update.
Any earnings generated on freefrog are your responsibility to report and pay taxes on according to the laws of your jurisdiction. We are not your accountant.
